Iran's Guards commander visits disputed island

The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards has visited three tiny disputed islands in the Gulf, state television reported on Friday, in a move likely to anger the United Arab Emirates which also claims sovereignty over them.
Tensions rose in April between the two countries following Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Abu Musa, one of the three islands near important oil shipping routes at the mouth of the strategic Strait of Hormuz. (Reuters)
