Some 300 activists gathered in Haifa's Meyerhoff Square ahead of a protest march meant to call for lower costs of living and the establishment of a welfare state.
Most of the activists were members of youth movements. They were expected to march towards the German Colony, where a rally was to be held. (Ahiya Raved)
