Putin: Russia supports Iran's right to peaceful nuke energy

Russian President Vladimir Putin told Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday that Russia was in favor of Iran's "peaceful" use of nuclear energy.

"We have always supported the Iranian people's right to modern technology, including the peaceful use of atomic energy. But I want to emphasize that we are talking about peaceful use," Putin told his Iranian counterpart during their visit to Beijing. (AFP)
