Organized by the Islamic Movement, the protest was attended by both its leaders, Sheikh Raed Salah and Hamad Abu Daabes. The protesters waved Islamic Movement flags and posters condemning the massacre and called for a revolution.

"We are proud to hold such a demonstration in our city and are not surprised with Bashar Assad's crimes," said Deputy Tamra Mayor Samir Awad. "One cannot regard him as a normal person. Everyone must stand up and fight against the genocide of the Syrian people.
"Bashar Assad has betrayed his people and we are calling him to step down because the Syrian people have broken the barrier of fear."
Sheikh Abu Daabes called the Syrian regime and its army "criminals" and said that the massacre cannot be ignored. "Dozens of people are murdered there everyday, which the world now sees as routine," he said. "Hundreds more could be murdered by the time the world responds and saves the Syrian people."
He said he regretted the fact that Russia still supports the regime "at the expense of the Syrian people."
Dr. Assad Ghanem of the Haifa University said: "The Syrian regime is responsible for killing all across of Syria. The Baath regime is imposing a type of occupation against the Syrian people.
"External intervention is needed to stop the murder committed by the Syrian regime."
