Peres lands in NY, to meet with government officials

President Shimon Peres landed on Sunday in New York to kick off his US trip. The president plans to meet with government and military senior officials including President Barack Obama and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.
Peres said he intends to discuss with US officials the strengthening of the strategic ties between the US and Israel, the Iranian nuclear program and the developments in the Middle East. (Omri Efraim and Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
