The Ministerial Committee on Legislative Affairs approved on Sunday a bill calling to make the legal consequences of hiring illegal migrants equal to those for employers who hire illegal Palestinian infiltrators.
According to the bill, authored by MK Ofir Akunis, anyone employing illegal migrants could face up to five years in jail or an NIS 500,000 fine. The bill is expected to be brought to the Knesset for a first reading. (Aviel Magnezi)
