Rabbi Elyashiv's spokesman: He's suffering from acute sepsis
The spokesman for Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv said that tests revealed that the rabbi was suffering from acute sepsis which is why his condition is considered critical.
"Doctors are fighting for his life and we are all being asked to pray for the rabbi's recovery," the spokesman told Ynet regional radio. Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, 102, is the leader of the Lithuanian Orthodox public. (Ron Notkin and Hani Amir)
