Egypt: Military council dissolves parliament as per court order

Egypt's ruling military council dissolved the Islamist-dominated parliament after a court decided to annul the results of last winter's parliamentary elections. Egyptian Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi signed off on the measure.

The Muslim Brotherhood rejected the military’s decision to implement the court order and called for a referendum on the issue. (Roi Kais and AFP)
