A senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt told Sky News that the movement's presidential candidate, Muhammed Mursi, based the announcement of his victory on solid results indicating that he had won the elections.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported that Mursi's opponent, Ahmad Shafiq, has taken the Cairo district by a margin of 350,000 votes. Final official results are not expected until later this week. (Roi Kais)
