Comptroller: Yishai, Steinitz liable for Carmel disaster

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and Interior Minister Eli Yishai must be held accountable for the devastating results of the Carmel Fire, State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss ruled in his final report about the 2010 disaster.
The state comptroller also slammed the Fire and Rescue Services for unprofessional conduct, noting that the FRS had stocked only 20 tons of a fire retardant substance while it should have stocked 200 tons. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch were also criticized the the report. (Yaron Druckman)
