Ashkelon city schools will be open as usual on Friday, the municipality decided Thursday after consulting with defense officials and the parents' advisory committee.
Elementary school classes were cancelled in the city Thursday following heavy rocket and mortar fire on southern Israel from the Gaza Strip. Middle school and high school students are already on summer vacation. (Neri Brenner)
