Turkey, UAE welcome Morsi's victory

Turkey's ambassador to Egypt, Hossein Awani, said Sunday that the results in Egypt's run-off presidential election meant that Egypt had joined the family of democratic nations.

The United Arab Emirates congratulated Morsi on his win. The UAE foreign ministry said in a statement that "we respect the Egyptian people's choice in the democratic process and hope that it is stable." (Roi Kais and AFP)
