Russia said on Tuesday the shooting down of a Turkish military aircraft by Syrian air defences should not be seen as a provocation or a premeditated action by Damascus.
"We think it is important that what happened is not viewed as a provocation or a premeditated action," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website. (Reuters)
