Barak: Shamir always strived to ensure Israel's freedom
Defense Minister Ehud Barak has offered his condolences over the death of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir: "His whole life, he was as stable as granite and maintained focus without compromises. Yitzhak Shamir always strived to ensure Israel's freedom.
"His commitment knew no borders," Barak said, adding that the former leader "sought what's right for the people of Israel" and for the country's security. (Attila Somfalvi)
