Prosecutor: Bribes in Holyland affair were exorbitant

The trial held for former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and three other defendants implicated in several bribery scandals, including the Holyland affair, has opened in the Tel Aviv District Court.
"If these exorbitant bribes were indeed given, the public interest was severly compromised. Therefore we are obligated to bring the responsible parties to justice," prosecution attorney Liat Ben Ari said in her opening statement. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
