Neturei Karta: Prison preferable to army service
None
Some 80 members of the extremist ultra-Orthodox Neturei Karta sect are staging a rally in Jerusalem in protest against an impending legislation that aims to expand haredi army recruitment.
The activists marched from the Mea Shearim neighborhood to the recruitment center in the capital, wielding signs, some of which claimed that, as believing Jews, the members of the movement preferred to spend their lives in prison "to being part of the Zionist army." (Noam "Dabul" Dvir)
