Poll: Merkel's approval rating rises

A new poll puts Chancellor Angela Merkel's approval rating at its highest in 2 1/2 years amid general approval of her handling of the eurozone debt crisis, but says most Germans fear the crisis will worsen.
The ARD television poll of 1,004 people published Friday said 66 percent were satisfied with Merkel's work eight points higher than a month earlier and the best since December 2009. It found that 58 percent believed she had taken the right action in the eurozone crisis but 85 percent believe the worst is still to come. (AP)
