A source in the Foreign Ministry postulated that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' upcoming trip to Iran does not indicate friendly ties with the host country or fondness for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The official asserted that Abbas cannot afford to miss the Non-Aligned Movement's conference, which is to be held in Tehran in August. "It's an important international support group for the Palestinians, so of course he has to go," he said. (Attila Somfalvi)
