Annan in Iraq for talks on peace plan for Syria

International envoy Kofi Annan has arrived in Iraq on an outreach tour to Syria's allies in the Mideast.

Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh says Annan will meet with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to discuss ways to end the bloodshed in neighboring Syria. Al-Dabbagh says Baghdad plans to offer solutions to the 16-month-old crisis. He did not offer any details. (AP)
