Debate about fire and rescue services reform derails

None

A meeting of the Knesset Interior Committee broke up after representatives of the Treasury refused to commit to a budget for implementing reforms to the Fire and Rescue Services.

The committee met to approve the legislation for its second and third readings, but when MKs reached the budget section Treasury representatives refused to commit to the specified cost – NIS 1 billion over five years – that would be required to make the stipulated reforms. (Moran Azulay)
