Egypt's Morsi heads to Ethiopia for AU summit

Egypt's newly elected President Mohammed Morsi has left for Ethiopia to attend an African Union summit, his second foreign trip since taking office two weeks ago.

Morsi will be the first Egyptian leader to attend an African summit since 1995, when deposed leader Hosni Mubarak survived an assassination attempt en route to one in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa. The attack was blamed on Muslim militants. (AP)
