Elkin: No reason to rush into elections
Coalition Chairman Zeev Elkin on Tuesday expressed his surprise at the conduct of Minister Shaul Mofaz in response to a proposal to force haredim to be drafted by age 23. Elkin said it appeared that Mofaz was "motivated by internal party political considerations that might also have to do with Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert."
Turning to Kadima's expected exit from the coalition, Elkin expressed confidence that the coalition would continue to function and said "there is no reason to rush into elections." (Attila Somfalvi)
