Council for Higher Education to mull Ariel center's university status

The Council for Higher Education in Jerusalem is set to discuss the recognition of the Ariel Academic Center as Israel's eighth university. Sources in the council postulate that the step is meant to use the CHE's prestige to garner legitimacy for the institution.

The move comes after the Council for Higher Education in Judea and Samaria announced it has certified the academic center as a university last week. (Tomer Velmer)
