Tax on cigarettes, beer to rise at midnight

The tax on cigarettes and alcohol is due to rise at midnight Wednesday, following an order from Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz. In addition, a 10% tax will be levied on existing stocks of cigarettes, making the price of a pack 2.4-2.9 shekels more expensive. (Avital Lahav)
