Hamas: US pressuring PA to freeze inter-Palestinian reconciliation
Hamas Prime Minister in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh said that his sources indicate that the United States has asked the Palestinian Authority to put the reconciliation with Hamas on hold, resume negotiations with Israel and refrain from applying to the UN for state status.
"(…) The American pressure on the Authority is bearing fruit, while all we want is to move forward with the reconciliation," he said. Fatah officials said Haniyeh's claims were baseless. (Elior Levy)
