Clash with Kurdish rebels leaves 19 dead
An official says Kurdish rebels have attacked a paramilitary outpost in southeast Turkey, sparking a clash that has left 19 people dead.
Orhan Alimoglu, the governor for Hakkari province says six soldiers, two government-paid village guards and 11 Kurdish rebels were killed in the fighting near the Iraqi border early Sunday. He says 15 soldiers were also injured. (AP)
