Court upholds protocol for probes into Shin Bet torture claims

Chief Justice Asher Grunis has upheld the existing procedure for the investigation of torture complaints filed against Shin Bet officers by detainees. The decision struck down a petition brought forth by several human rights groups. The current regulations put the Justice Ministry in charge of the probes.


The human rights groups and former subjects of interrogation have demanded the court to ease the process for opening a criminal investigation into allegedly abusive Shin Bet officers. (Aviel Magnezi)
