Egypt's upper house names new newspaper editors

None

Egypt's upper house of parliament has named 50 new editors for state-owned newspapers, raising concerns that the press could become a tool of empowerment for Islamists.

The upper house, called the Shura Council, is dominated by Islamist parties. The lower house, also Islamist controlled, was disbanded after a court ruled its election illegal. (AP)
