Gholamreza Ma'soumi, Chief of Iran's Emergency Organization, reported the numbers to Iranian news agency ISNA.
Earlier reports mentioned 50 people were injured in Varzaghan and transferred to hospitals. Local media said communications with villages in the area were cut off. (Dudi Cohen)
