MK Avi Dichter leaves Kadima; to be appointed minister

Knesset Member Avi Dichter will replace Matan Vilnai as Home Front Defense minister. Minister Ehud Barak offered Dichter the post in a meeting in Tel Aviv on Monday. Dichter later met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Kadima MK is scheduled to tender his resignation from the Knesset on Tuesday. His associates said he will not take part in any attempt to split Kadima. He is scheduled to be appointed minister on Thursday. (Attila Somfalvi)
