Kfir hazing suspects want to be demoted to private rank

None

The Jaffa Military Court discussed Monday morning the plea bargains between the Military Prosecution and nine of the 10 defendants in the hazing affair at the Kfir Brigade. The indictment was amended, as the defendants expressed remorse, and they are slated to face jail time.

During the discussion, the prosecution demanded that the soldiers be demoted to corporals, but they surprisingly asked to be demoted to privates so as to avoid wearing corporal stripes on their uniform, which is indicative of non-combat units. (Yoav Zitun)
