Report: West bribed Syrians to defect from Assad regime

European elements cooperated with representatives from the Gulf States and bribed senior Syrian officials to persuade them to defect from President Bashar Assad's regime, The Times reported.
According to the British newspaper, the sides met in the capital of Qatar last May and agreed that Syrian elements must be given "incentives" to hasten the collapse of Assad's government. (Ynet)
