Burhan Ghalioun, chairman of the Syrian opposition's Transitional National Council, issued a response to the Syrian government's statement, whereby it is willing to negotiate President Bashar al-Assad's departure.
According to Ghalioun, "If the government is interested in saving the country, it should treat Assad as a criminal." Ghalioun added that focusing on whether Assad should retire or not was just a way to buy time. (Roi Kais)
