Report: 2 Syrian officials to defect from Assad's regime

Two high-ranking Syrian officials will defect from Bashar Assad's regime over the next couple of hours, Al-Ahram weekly reported on Thursday. An opposition source in Syria said that the two are quite high up in Assad's regime, and claimed that their desertion will hasten Assad's fall.
The source further said that Free Syrian Army security guards will accompany the two officials as they leave the war-torn country. (Roi Kais)
