10 Afghan soldiers killed in checkpoint attack

The Afghan government says 10 Afghan soldiers have been killed in an attack on a checkpoint in the south and five have either been kidnapped or joined their assailants.
Helmand provincial government spokesman Daoud Ahmadi says insurgents attacked the checkpoint in Washir district Sunday evening. He says another four soldiers were wounded. (AP)
