Tourist suffers Tuberculosis relapse at J'lem hospital
A cancer patient who arrived at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem for treatment has suffered a relapse of tuberculosis, a disease that she first contracted 12 years ago. She has been placed in isolation and is receiving intensive care.
Five patients who shared a room with the woman – a tourist – and the hospital staff who came in contact with her are undergoing tests to determine whether they were infected as well. Due to the incident the hospital has decided that from now on any patient who arrives from a country with high TB incidence will have to undergo tests prior to being admitted. (Itai Gal)
