White House: Ties with Israel have never been closer

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney dismissed Republic presidential candidate Mitt Romney's claim that that President Barack Obama threw "allies like Israel under the bus." Carney told reporters that the US' relations with Israel have never been closer.
Carney admitted that he did not discuss the remarks Romney made during the Republican Convention in Florida, but noted that the president united the international community against Iran and promoted sanctions against the Islamic Republican. He stressed that window of opportunity for a diplomatic solution to the nuclear issue won't remain open indefinitely. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
