Israel: No deterioration in ties with US

Responding to the Pentagon's decision to significantly scale back on its participation in a joint military drill with Israel next month, senior Israeli officials rejected claims that relations between the countries have soured.
"The claims that the US is trying to tell us something by reducing its participation are distorted and wrong," one official said. "There are various reasons for the (Pentagon's decision), but it has nothing to do wit the ties between the two countries." (Attila Somfalvi)
