Brussels admits to involvement in WWII deportation of Jews

The Mayor of Brussels officially owned up to the city's part in the deportation of Jews during World War II at a ceremony held in the city on Sunday. The event was attended by Israel's Ambassador in Belgium and the deputy Belgian prime minister.

 

The mayor stated that Brussels' registration police helped authorities to detain Jews and eventually led to their transportation to the extermination camps. (AFP)
