Iranian official: Syrian revolt is Zionist attempt to make up for failure
An Iranian official accused Israel on Wednesday of backing the Syrian uprising. "The Zionists want to make up for their failures because Syria is the golden ring on the chain of the resistance against Israel," said Iranian former Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati.
Velayati further attacked Egypt's former regime led by Hosni Mubarak, claiming that the ousted president helped Israel tighten the siege on the Gaza Strip. (Dudi Cohen)
