Report: Assad regime moves chemical agents to port city

US President Barack Obama and several top European officials have warned Syrian President Bashar Assad against using chemical weapons after a significant amount of chemical agents was moved to the city of Tartus, according to a report in the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai. The report cited diplomatic sources.

According to the sources, the transfer of the agents to the port city has eased concerns that the materials are to be handed over to Hezbollah or other terrorist groups. The sources postulated that the Syrian regime is working to create a protected zone for the leaders and their families. (Roi Kais)
