UK: Ariel college's university accreditation detrimental to peace

British Foreign Secretary William Hague blasted the Israeli cabinet's decision to sign off on Ariel college's university accreditation, urging the Jewish state to reconsider the decision.

“I am very disappointed by last night’s decision by the Israeli Cabinet to approve the potential upgrading of Ariel College," he said. "This would lead to the creation of Israel’s first university beyond the Green Line, in a settlement illegal under international law. It would further entrench the presence of settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and create an additional barrier to peace with the Palestinians.” (Ynet)
