PM calls to move forward with daylight saving time extension

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed Coalition Chairman MK Zeev Elkin to promote the bill aiming to extend daylight savings time, a legislation that has been stymied at the Knesset's House Committee.
"I cannot understand why we're switching to standard time," Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat said during Sunday's government meeting. "We're in the middle of the summer. It has no justification. It's a waste of energy and electricity." (Moran Azulay)
