Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the accusations of the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmeadinejad that Israel has no roots in the Middle East by citing the reign of the biblical King David as proof of the Jewish people's hold on the State of Israel.
In his speech at the UN General Assembly, Netanyahu discussed the connection between the State of Israel and the Jewish people, marking "We will never be uprooted again". (Yitzhak Benhorin)
