Syrian FM: Chemical weapons a US invention against Assad
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem accused the United States of working to bring about the downfall of President Bashar Assad's regime.
"The claim that we have chemical weapons is an American invention aimed at pressuring the regime in Damascus. The Americans said the same about Iraq just to have an excuse to invade its territory," Moallem said in an interview to Syrian media at the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
