Peres: I convinced Rabin not to surrender to Entebbe terrorists

President Shimon Peres discussed the Entebbe Operation Monday, saying that he convinced then Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and IDF Chief of General Staff Mordechai Gur to launch the rescue operation.

"Our planes took off on Friday morning. To save time, I decided that the planes fly in the morning. Yitzhak agreed, and we both decided that on the outside the government will appear to be agreeing to the terrorists' demands," Peres said. (Shahar Hai)
