1,300 rally against violence, murder in Tira

Some 1,300 people took part in a rally in Tira in protest against the surge in violence and murder cases in the Arab-Israeli city. The demonstration was organized by Mayor Mamoun Abd al-Hay and the municipal anti-violence committee.

"Despite the battles and the rallies against murder and violence, people fire weapons everyday, and the police doesn't do anything about it," said Muna Kashua, whose brother, Ahmad, was shot dead in Tira last week. She was among several relatives of murder victims in attendance. (Hassan Shaalan)
