Palestinians set private sector minimum wage

The Palestinian government in Ramallah approved a minimum wage bill for the private sector, setting the new the monthly salary at NIS 1,450 (roughly $375).

Palestinian labor unions praised the decision, saying it is a historical day. The local merchant union, however, claimed the decision will drive the work force out of the Palestinian Authority. (Elior Levy)
