Israel urges EU to continue advancing Mideast peace

The Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem congratulated the European Union on winning the Nobel Peace Prize. The ministry said in a statement that Israel expected the EU "to persist in its efforts to advance peace in the Middle East, out of a supportive approach and understanding of the special sensitivities characterizing the region.
"History entrusts the EU with the responsibility to achieve peace in its neighboring areas, as well as remain alert in light of expressions of racism and anti-Semitism within its borders." (Attila Somfalvi)
