Mauritanian president in hospital with gunshot wound

Mauritania President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz is undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound in a military hospital in the capital Nouakchott, a source at the presidency and two military sources told Reuters on Saturday.

They said Abdel Aziz was traveling by road when the incident occurred, but they did not give any further details. Security forces blocked roads leading to the hospital, witnesses said. (Reuters)
